This prayer was written for tireless and careful friends who moderate the Australian Christians for Marriage Equality FB page. They are sensitive and fun, deeply spiritual and inspiring. They spend their 'spare' time undertaking pastoral ministry with people they may never meet face to face. I have learnt much from them.
O God,
Give me the wisdom to read carefully and lovingly.
May I prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable.
May I seek to channel grace and mercy at every opportunity.
May I have the strength to persevere with love when I am feeling provoked.
May I display self-control and humility.
May I avoid haughtiness and naughtiness.
And, when necessary, Holy One,
Let me speak your words, casting out demons
And whacking moles.
Amen
